Regardless of whether its a Town Hall, Club, Restaurant, Wedding you want to be able to get up and dance, right? Not sit around because you don’t think you can dance comfortably and appropriately.
Different dance floors are not created equal, however at 5th Avenue Dance, we teach you how to confidently navigate around any dance floor

Town Halls & Community Centres
The days of going to the local town hall or community centre are not over, however, these days are becoming less and less.
These dance floors are great for “dancers” who really want to stretch out and be able to use the whole dance floor.
Your Local Club
More often now, the largest dance floors are found at your local club.
These floors while large enough to dance socially “stretching out” is something that can rarely be achieved, as the floors are more crowded and smaller.
Plus, the people in attendance do not expect, and do not appreciate showy over stylized dancing.
Social Dancing, having fun is what dancing should be at these locations.
Cruises and Weddings
We then go down in size of dance floors to what we find on cruises and weddings.
These floors can range from what you find at clubs all the way down to a few square metres.
Wide dance frames and “moving out” should be discouraged on these floors.
Both to fit in physically and to fit in style wise.
These floors perfectly fit “spot” dances which covers all your Latin dances.
Restaurants
Restaurants, mostly now have no room to dance unless, you move some tables and chairs. This is where “spot” dancing becomes a necessity.
These different floors, vary in size and situation. A good social dancer can adapt their dancing to fit to any dance floor.

We are centrally located at Suite 7 115 Currumburra Road in Ashmore.
How to Start
To get you started we do offer a Free Private Lesson, so you can, come in meet with a teacher let them know what you are interested in, and what you have done before – if anything, and where you might be utilising your dancing. Your teacher will give you more information about the studio and answer any questions you might have.
You will then have a lesson, going over 2 or 3 of the most popular ballroom dances. This gives you a chance to try out and see how we teach.
Your teacher at the end of the lesson will know the best way for you to start and go over the cost, schedule and times, if you are interested in doing more.
