- Showcase Balls
We have one or two Showcase Balls every year. These formal occasions allow you to dress up and dance on large dance floors, enjoy delicious foods and see some great dancing to wonderful music. These occasions also allow our students to perform Showcase Routines, similar to what you might see on the TV show “Dancing with the Stars”.
- Dinner Dances
Need to know where you can use your dancing? We run 4 to 6 dinner dances every year. These nights are open to our students and their guests, plus anyone who is interested in using their dancing. We run these nights at local restaurants and clubs, normally to live music.
- Guest Parties and Open Days
We run 4 of these nights a year at our dance studio. Watch this site and newsletter for our next scheduled night.
Why learn Ballroom dancing?
That’s easy!
From the moment you learn Ballroom Dancing; any Ball, Wedding, Cruise, restaurant, or party where there is music and a potential to dance, you can!
Dancing to any music, with any partner. No counting, no thinking, no rehearsing just invite or accept an invitation to dance.
Who should learn Ballroom dancing?
Everyone. Seriously everyone.
When you see a movie and a man asks a lady to dance. There is no question of: What do you know? Have you danced before? Do you know this dance? Do you know this step?
He asks. She accepts.
And they dance, with an easy effortless grace – who should learn Ballroom Dancing – everyone.

So Men that we teach can ask any Lady to dance, and absolutely know that he can.
Likewise we teach Ladies to follow.
So Ladies that we teach can accept any invitation to dance and know that it will work, and she will not have to take over or get trodden on.
Which Ballroom dances do 5th Avenue Dance teach?
All dances.
What we do is encourage any new student to try out the main dances.
Meaning those ballroom dances which will enable you to dance to any music that would be played at a Ballroom, restaurant, cruise, club or party.
Then continue with the ones that you like or love to achieve a level of comfort or mastery that you choose.

We are centrally located at Suite 7 115 Currumburra Road in Ashmore, Gold Coast, QLD
How to start?
To get you started we do offer a Free Private Lesson, so you can, come in meet with a teacher let them know what you are interested in, and what you have done before – if anything, and where you might be utilising your dancing. Your teacher will give you more information about the studio and answer any questions you might have.
You will then have a lesson, going over 2 or 3 of the most popular ballroom dances. This gives you a chance to try out and see how we teach.
Your teacher at the end of the lesson will know the best way for you to start and go over the cost, schedule and times, if you are interested in doing more.
