Steven Bock
Steven Bock has been a student of dance since 1983 and began teaching in 1984. His background includes studies in Tap, Jazz, Classical Ballet as well as Creative and Modern Dance.
In 1984 Mr. Bock became an Australian Champion and represented Australia at the South Pacific Ballroom Dancing Championships held in Auckland New Zealand where he became Pro β Am Champion in both Ballroom and Latin, which he defended in 1985.
In 1985 he was the Combined Society Australian Champion in Latin American.
Mr. Bockβs early teaching involved Ballroom and Latin in 1985. Then in 1988 he became a full time lecturer and teacher at Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education now a campus of the University of Technology in Sydney.
From there it was on to Arthur Murray Dance Studio to become a full time dance teacher, where he eventually became Assistant Manager.
Mr. Bock opened a Fred Astaire Dance Studio in December of 1989, in Hurstville, leaving this studio in early 1991, spending time in Hurstville, Parramatta, Cremorne and Canberra – Fred Astaire Dance Studios. Eventually buying the Canberra Fred Astaire Dance Studio, which he later sold and is still operating today as Danzon Dance Studio.
Mr. Bock then opened a Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Sydney, located in the CBD in January of 1994, until selling the studio 2003.
During this time Mr. Bock became the National Dance Director in charge of training all staff and the standard of both students and staff throughout Australia.
Mr. Bock opened 5th Avenue Dance on the Gold Coast, in 2004. Where he and his partner have forged a great reputation and are now known as the premium dance studio on the Gold Coast.
The method used at 5th Avenue Dance is that used by both Arthur Murray Dance Studio and Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Which has taught the world to dance for more than 100 years.
